ISLAMABAD—Where the earthquake has caused large scale devastations there The Daily Mail is also one of its victims. Three of the Daily Mail staffers were injured and one still missing in the line of duty while our Muzaffarabad Bureau has been eliminated from planet earth.
According to the details, soon after the earthquake hit the country, The Daily Mail's entire reporting team and its network of correspondents and Bureaus were given the tasks by the Editor-in-Chief directly. They were directed to go to the field and conducted on spot reporting and also to take part in the relief work. While the head office's reporting team, led by the Chief himself was engaged in Islamabad, the correspondents were advised to reach the remote areas of their locality and to reach to maximum possible quake affected areas so that the readers can be provided with the maximum possible coverage about the situation and the problems of the victims and rescuers can be highlighted.
Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmad, senior reporter got injured when he was engaged in professional duties at collapsed Margalla Towers and was also helping the rescuers.  Mr. Zulfiqar received an arm injury while he was trying to have a closer look at the debris so that he can report the actual situation for the valued readers. He was released from the hospital after receiving medical aid. Similarly Mr. Jehangir (Staff Photographer) received a head injury while he trying to get a wide angle shot from his camera to give valued readers a better photograph to update them about the situation.
