Flops drop at Bollywood Stop!
By Uzma Zafar

Filmi Round-Up

Those of us who have watched Dansh, well, Siskiyan offers nothing new. The plot is the same. Only the later stars an overly attractive seductress for a star; Neha Dupia instead of a classic one as back in Dansh. Both are copies of Death & the Maiden. However, the two Bollywood flicks are a bit different at some points.
Siskiyan tells a nightlong tale of a woman who holds captive a stranger that her husband brings in as an associate, for her instincts tell her that he is the same doctor who raped her during the communal riots in Gujarat. The difference between Dansh and Sskiyan is that the later is about a Muslim family and the rapist commits the sin of rape because of the ethnocentrism of religion.
Te film is superbly executed and the characters have done their part with totally conviction. Too bad the flick was released after Dansh as now, nobody would watch it! If you’ve watched Dansh, no need to waste time on Siskiyan!

If Meera’s kiss in Nazar stirred controversy that was later proved to be Hell out of hay sequence, the hot chick is back in Kasak, shedding more appeal than ever. With Kasak, she has reached a point of no return as has adopted everything that’s needed for a Bollywood flick to become a hit.
Starring against Lucky Ali who proved to be a good singer but ugly actor in Sur, Meera plays the role of a seductress who entraps Ali for money but the guy keeps loving her till the end and puts her through a situation where she can realize her intentions.
The songs are good for a change as one talks about Bollywood films in general. Lucky Ali looks like a gay, especially because he plays the role of a male nurse with curly hair. The title score is good. However, the bottom line is, that though the Indian crowd would hate to admit it, both in Nazar and now in Kasak, Meera has proved herself to be a fine actress. However, unfortunately, she is the only good act in the flick. Thus Kasak is a better miss than ataste to savour!
