Advice to stay away from unsafe, tall buildings

ISLAMABAD—Director General Meteorological Department Dr. Qamar-ul-Zaman Chaudhry Saturday advised people to stay away from unsafe, tall and stone made building in next couple of days.
Talking to Pakistan Television, the DG said after shock effects of the earthquake will continue in next couple of days so people should avoid to go in unsafe, tall and stone made buildings.
He added that although the magnitude of earthquake expected in next couple of days will be around 5 to 6 on rector scale. He said earthquake magnitude according to preliminary estimate was 7.5 on richter scale.
The centre of the earthquake was 100 KM North of Islamabad, he added.
Dr. Qamar-ul-Zaman said this intensity earthquake was record in 100 years in the area.
“We can call it major earthquake in the area”, he added.
To a question he said cabinet division’s Emergency Crises Management Cell and army have started relief work in affected areas.
