ISLAMABAD—Several callers telephoned the Daily Mail office on Saturday to express their indignation and shock over what they stated the ruling alliance workers' immoral and irresponsible way in which on the night between 2nd and 3rd of holy Ramazan they celebrated their sweeping victory in the last and final phase of the local bodies' elections -2005. Reportedly, victory celebrations included performance by professional dancers, singers and bhangra by workers and onlookers. They wondered why the sanctity of the Holy Month was not kept in view and why the leadership did not indicate the lines on which celebrations could have been organised befitting the Holy Month. The merry making including boozing went on till the wee hours on Saturday. A few hours later the northern parts of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir were hit by terrible earth tremors causing widespread destruction.
The callers wondered whether the nation had to suffer consequential wrath of Almighty Allah.
