Livestock sector to get top priority: secretary agriculture

ISLAMABAD—The government has decided to launch a livestock development board, this was stated in high level meeting chaired by secretary, food agriculture and livestock, Ismail Qureshi.
In fact, this is one of the bold steps of the present government to agriculture improve sector of the country.
The proposed, as a matter of fact, will be basically responsible to promote the stock sector, especially milk, meat and poultry production and marketing.
Moreover, the board will oversee the work of Pakistan dairy development company, which has been recently established by the government of Pakistan to provide seed-money of more than Rs. 2 billion.
These boards and companies established in the light of decision of prime minister to accord top priority to the livestock sector, which accounts for heavy half of value produce of agriculture sector.
In the changing global market scenario, this board will go along in making the Pakistan livestock were competitive and dynamic.
