Pak, Bahrain to boost defence ties

ISLAMABAD—Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said Pakistan and Bahrain are bound together by centuries’ old ties of history, culture and religion adding close and cordial relation between the two countries had been strengthened from time to time.
He stated this while talking with Prince Muhammad Bin Issa Al-Khalifa, Commander National Guards Bahrain who called on him the Prime Minister House on Wednesday.
Prime Minister said that there is a lot of scope for further expansion and consolidation of relations between the two countries especially in the field of trade, commerce and investment. referring to the visit of the Prime Minister of Bahrain to Pakistan taking place earlier, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said it helped further strengthen our relations and we share a common desire for peace. The two country, he said had identical views on many regional and international issues.
He said Pakistan is fast becoming as attractive destination for prospective for entrepreneurs and business owing to its friendly investment policies. He said business and entrepreneurs from Bahrain would also avail the abundant opportunities of investment present in the country. The Prime Minister also said that the defense cooperation between the two countries would continue to the mutual advantage of both the countries.
Prince lauded the achievement made by the country particularly in the economic field and expressed the confidence that Pakistan Bahrain ties would strengthen with the passage of time. Major General Sheikh Muhammad Bin Essa Al-Khalifa, Bahraini Commander National Guards, currently on an official visit to Pakistan, called on President General Pervez Musharraf here on Wednesday.
The President recalled the excellent ties existing between the Armed Forces of Pakistan and Bahrain.
He wished Major General Bin Essa a pleasant and professionally rewarding stay in the country.
He expressed the hope that his visit would help to further strengthen the excellent relations between the armies of the two countries.
