ISLAMABAD—Third phase of local bodies polls will be held today (Thursday) for the election of district, tehsil and towns Nazims an Naib Nazims. According to statistics issued by Elections Commission of Pakistan, 1887 candidates will participate in elections in 498 districts, Tehsils and towns for Nazims seats. 8801 female candidates, 2141 minorities and 5624 candidates for farmer and labourer seats are participating in the elections. ISLAMABAD—A detained Taliban spokesman has told his interrogators that the militia’s fugitive chief, Mullah Mohammed Omar, is hiding in Afghanistan and is in contact with top commanders, an intelligence official said Wednesday.
