Sushmita Sen in talks over Hollywood film with Gere
Bollywood Desk

MUMBAI—Hollywood actor Richard Gere and former Miss Universe and Bollywood star Sushmita Sen are set to act together in a major Hollywood film. “Sushmita will be acting in a movie in which Richard Gere is also playing a big role,” said Neelam, Sen’s secretary. She did not give details but said Sen was in Singapore to negotiate details of the contract. The Daily News and Analysis quoted Sen as confirming the role. “Yes, I won’t deny it. Things are not on paper yet,” Sen told the daily on Monday.
“All I can say is that it is a major Hollywood studio production and I will be acting with Richard Gere. In another two months, I shall give you the minuets details.” The paper also quoted Sen as saying she had bagged a project with Robert De Niro’s daughter but did not give details.
Sen, Miss Universe title holder in 1994, is a leading actress in India’s prolific Hindi-language film industry known as Bollywood, and is often compared with former Miss World and top Indian star Aishwarya Rai. Rai’s latest international venture is a Roman sword-and-sandal epic “The Last Legion” in which she sheds her angelic image to play a Byzantine warrior woman on horseback in a Dino De Laurentis and Raffaella De Laurentis production.
