PFF’s showpiece event will move into floodlights

LAHORE, Oct 3 (Online): The second Pakistan Premier Soccer League 2005 will make its way into newly-installed flood-lit system of Army Sports Complex Football Stadium, near Saddar, Rawalpindi during Ramzanul Mubarak when National Bank of Pakistan will clash with Pakistan Navy on October 5.
Taraveh. NBP is currently fourth in the table while Pakistan Navy are at the bottom, fighting to survive relegation into PFF League 2006, an event for Tier-II teams in Pakistani soccer.
Islamabad Football Association’s Senior Vice President Muhammad Irfan Niazi, a successful Event Co-ordinator during recently-concluded National Women Championship, will act as Match Commissioner.
The 12-team event has purse of Rs. 3 lacs for the winner whereas runner up team will walk away with Rs. 2 lacs. The third-placed team will pocket 1 lacs. The most valuable player (MVP) will get Rs. 25000 while leading marksman will pocket Rs. 20,000.
In addition, Rs.19,80,000 will be distributed among participants as bonus. Each match will have Rs.15000 as bonus. The winner of the match will get Rs.10,000 and the loser Rs. 5000. In case of draw, Rs.7500 will be distributed among the two teams.
Referee Inspector’s role will be performed by former international player Chaudhry Muhammad Arshad while Referee Panel have Jehangir Khan (Quetta), Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah (Peshawar), Khalid Khan (Bahawalpur), Muhammad Saleem (Peshawar) Dr. Ibrahim (Islamabad), Muhammad Sharif (Islamabad), Shaffat Habib (Army) Chaman (Islamabad), M. Ibrar (Army). Hidayat Ullah (Peshawar), will replace Imtiaz Ali Shah from 3 November 2005. On 4 October, Tuesday, KRL will take on PWD at KRL Stadium while PTCL collide with HBL at Municipal Stadium. Both the matches of Rawalpindi will kick-off at 4 PM.
