8-member Norwegian delegation visits AIOU

ISLAMABAD—Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is only university of the country having distance learning system and include among the such big universities around the world which not only spreading the education from basic to Ph.D level in different discipline but also offering the courses in each the section of computer information sciences and sciences technology.
Prof. Dr. Altaf said that Open University is working properly according to its mandate, through modern means of communication; the targets regarding providing the very important knowledge are being getting successfully. He added that science and technology and computer information technology's education are providing to student through "face to face" teaching system under public private franchise.
Leader of delegation, appreciated the efforts made for quality education by university during the last four years and a senior member, Dr. Reta Comar taken her keen interest in teacher training programmes of the university.
Dr. Reta Comar expressed their hopes that AIOU provides the train's teacher from primary to university level in more numbers then all the teachers training institutions and this university had started in first time in the country the highest degree in the field of special education. Dean, faculty of sciences, Prof. Dr. Nazir A Sangi, Dean, faculty Arabic and Islamic studies, Prof Dr. Ali Asghar Chishti, Prof. Dr. Perveen Liaqat and heads of different departments of the university were also present in the meeting and introduced their section.—Agencies
