By Adnan Rafique

ISLAMABAD—A three-member bench of the Supremen Court Monday gave more time to Rawalpindi Police to recover abducted girl, Shehla Naz and said the date of next hearing would be fixed after four weeks.
The bench of the Apex Court comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice M.Javed Buttar and Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed expressed their dissatisfaction over the report presented by the Superintendent of Police Sadr Rawalpindi through Assistant Advocate General Punjab, Mrs.Afshan Ghazanfar and directed Police to make all out efforts for the recovery of the abducted girl.
The Court turned down the request made by Superintendent of Police, Sadr, to direct Superintendent of Police Investigation for this purpose because according to Police Laws this matter pertains to that wing.
However, the court accepted the request to make some part of the hearing of this case as in camera session. This will be done only on the written request if made, Chief Justice observed.
The Bench also allowed the Police to involve family members of Shehla Naz in the ongoing investigation without any hesitation. The Bench directed the Police to make all out efforts for recovery of the girl.
All the concerned police officers including Saud Aziz DPO, Rawalpindi were also present in the court. The accused Usman Ghani was also produced before the court who is already on bail.
Mother of the girl, Mukhtar Bibi, was also present in the court.
The bench observed that a report related to the case, which was presented by the police through Assistant Advocate General
Punjab, was "unsatisfactory" and just a "Karwai". M.Bilal Advocate and Chaudhry Muhammad Akram represented the petitioner. However, Shaukat Siddiqui appeared before the court as counsel of the respondent. The police have registered a case of abduction against Usman Ghani under section 10/11 Offence of Zinah Ordinance 1979.
