Pak soccer team to arrive in New Delhi after 9 years

Lahore—A Pakistani soccer team will visit Indian capital of New Delhi
after a lapse of nine years when the famous city’s Dr. Ambedkhar Stadium
will host the AFC Under-17 Football Championship Qualifiers (Group-G).
Pakistan will take on India and Tajikistan in qualifying phase on 13 and
15 November 2005 respectively. India-Tajikistan encounter will be played
on 17 November. All three matches will kick-off at 2.30 PM as no flood
lights are available in 25,000-capacity stadium.
Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)’s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal
Saleh Hayat approved twenty-eight players for the final trials for the
selection of National U17 team.
Pakistan last visited New Delhi in 1996 when qualifying round of 30th
Asian Under-19 Championship saw Pakistan taking on India and Sri Lanka.
The team then was under Amir Khan, former ABL player now playing for KRL.
The coach was Chaudhry Muhammad Asghar, now Match Commissioner during
Pakistan Premier League ( Lahore Centre) matches.

(Balochistan), Basit (Wohaib Club)
Defenders : Zohaib Khan (NWFP), Akmal Shahzad (Punjab), Atif Hussain
(Punjab), Gulfraiz (Sindh), Majid Ali (Sindh), Muhammad Irfan
(Balochistan), Kaleemullah (Balochistan), Ahmed (Wohaib FC), Nadeem (Wohaib
FC), Tahseen Raza (Northern Areas)
Midfielders : Fazal Zeeshan (NWFP), Waheed Ahmed (NWFP), Rashid Ali
(Punjab), Shehzad (Sindh), Kalimullah (Balochistan), Wasim Akhtar
(Islamabad)
Strikers : Ali Ishtiaq (Punjab), Farid (Sindh), Adbul Rehman (Sindh),
Jahanzeb (Balochistan), Ehsanullah (Balochistan), Muhammad Suleman
(Islamabad), Fahdullah Khan (Islamabad), Sohail ( Wohaib FC).
