‘Statistics Division to be made a world class organization’

ISLAMABAD—Statistics Division would be transformed into a world class organization by imparting training and updating the knowledge and skills of its officers on modern scientific lines.
This was stated by Secretary Statistics Division, Asad Ellahi while addressing the graduation ceremony of three-week training course on “Introduction to Econometrics” here at Statistics Division.
The course was organized by Training Institute of Federal Bureau of Statistic for fourteen officers of statistics division (BS-17/18) in order to enhance their professional skill and update their knowledge to further improve their efficiency in the organization.
Muhammad Younus Principal and Vice principal and Course coordinator Ms. Rashida Bokari also spoke on the occasion.
The Secretary Statistic Division Asad Ellahi said “we are fast growing economy” and added that training and skill development of statistical officers is necessary to meet the future challenges.
He added that a crash computer programme would be started soon to impart computer training to both the officers and staff of the division to enhance their computer skills and improving their efficiency.
Congratulating the participants of the course, the Secretary called upon them to play the role of agents of change in their respective departments and further improve the efficiency.
He said that they would be given priority in promotions.
He urged the officers and staff to equip themselves with latest knowledge and avail opportunities of training being provided to them.
Asad Ellahi said that steps would be taken for the development of the Training Institute of the FBS for the benefit of its officers and staff.
He added that more such training programmes would be organized for the benefit of the organization and its staff.
The Principal and the Vice Principal of the training institute highlighted the aims and objectives of the course.
The Chief guest Asad Ellahi distributed certificates among the participants of the course.
