Women Engineers from CASE and CARE shine at Int’l Conference in Korea
ISLAMABAD—The International Conference of Women Engineers and Scientists
under the theme of “Women Engineers and Scientists: Main Force to
Reshape the Future World” was held from Friday, August 26, to Monday,
August 29, 2005, in Seoul, Korea. It was the 13th in the series of
International Conferences that begun in New York in 1964 and since held
all over the world. The conference had great participation with special
sessions on mentorship and leadership and other informative technical
sessions. The participants came from fifty one different countries. It
served as an international contact point for women scientists and
engineers in the engineering and science sector worldwide. ICWES13 was
organized by the Association of Korean Women Scientists and Engineers,
at the Ewha Women’s University campus. The conference was supported by
International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists (LNWES), Canada.
This year’s conference was of special importance for our country because
of having number of participants greater than those of Iran, Malaysia,
India, Kuwait, Turkey, Bangladesh and many other countries. The nine
participants from Pakistan presented their work in oral and poster
sessions and were highly appreciated for the quality of work and
dedication.

Durdana Habib (CARE), Ayesha Khalid (CARE), Fatima Batool (CARE), Ayesha
Farhat (CARE), Huma Afzal (CASE), Qurat-ul-ain Aziz (CASE), Kishwar
Jaffri (CASE), Faiza Gul (College of EME), Sabiha Bakhtiar (PAEC) Ms.
Durdana Habib was invited to the INWES board meetings and has been
elected as Director for the INWES Board for the period 2005-2008.—PR |
