Cash award announced for boxers

KARACHI—Chairman Karachi Port Trust Vice Admiral Ahmed Hayat Monday announced a cash award of Rs 100,000 each for the two KPT boxers who won medals and honour of Asian Boxing Championship for the country.
The two pugilists of KPT Feather weight Meharullah and Light Walter weight Asghar Ali Shah took part in the Asian Boxing Championship in Vietnam and won gold medal and honor of Asian Boxing Champion.
It may be noted that the management of KPT had also given cash award to Meharullah and Asghar Ali Shah for their excellent performance in the Asian Games held in Bosan.
The KPT also enjoys the honour that the titles of Asian Games, Asian Cadet Championship, Asian Junior Champion and now Asian Mens Champion are holding by their boxes namely Meharullah, Asghar Ali Shah, Mohammed Nisar and Mohammed Ali.—Agencies
