Opp rejects amendment in FPSC Ord

ISLAMABAD—PPP-P voiced strong protest and staged walk out from National Assembly over reduction of service term of members and chairman of Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) from five years to three years and deeni madaris registration were presented in NA on Monday saying military regime was bent upon annihilating the country and the preparations were under way to put in place presidential system in place of parliamentary system.
PPP-P legislators expressed strong protest against the approval of motion on revocation of NFC bill for 2005. They turned up in front of deputy speaker dais for not putting the bill to debate. The assembly proceedings were suspended. During the besiege of deputy speaker, PPP-P MNA, Aitzaz Ahsan exchanged hot words with the former and he continued demanding for withdrawing the decision on acceptance of motion. Deputy speaker refused to do so. MMA did not take part in besieging act.
Earlier speaking on a point of order, PPP-P MNA, Naveed Qamar said military regime was bent on destroying democratic institutions. Legislation work is being done through ordinances. Five ordinances were presented. Assembly has been made a laughing stock. Government fears from convening session as it has to suffer a defeat.
Minister for parliamentary affairs, Dr Sher Afgan said that ordinances were promulgated to meet the emergency. These have come in parliament. Opposition was playing dirty game. Had they any reservation about them, they would have tabled motion. Now their objection is unjust. Deputy speaker accepted the minister’s stance as correct.
