PAF opens wargames

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has started the greatest strategic exercise High Mark-2005” of its history on Sunday. Talking to BBC, PAF spokesman, Air Commodore Sarfraz Ahmad Khan said exercise would continue for one month and would be conducted in three phases.
He told that about 350 fighter planes of PAF would take part in this exercise adding that army and navy will also participate in this game. The exercise will be conducted in central part of the country in the first phase, in northern areas in second phase and in southern areas in third phase.
The attackers in High Mark-2005 war game have been named as Blue Land and the defenders as Fox Land. According to spokesman, all the planes of PAF, pilots, airbases, engineers, air defence and management crew will participate in the exercise.
Focus has been placed on employment concepts of air power during this four weeks long exercise. The exercise will afford the chance for best training to fighter and their assisting elements of three forces.
Air Commodore Sarfraz Ahmad told that the preparations were underway since the last six months and these drills will take place in the environment resembling closely to real war situation.—Online
