PML to name Nazims with allies consent

ISLAMABAD—Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and PML President Ch Shujaat Hussain have agreed in principle to select Nazims with the consultation of allies and party members and completion of quorum would be ensured. The decisions to this effect were taken during a meeting between Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Ch Shujaat Hussain at the Parliament House on Friday.
The two leaders discussed party affairs, current National Assembly sessions, legislative affairs, quorum problems and LB Polls. According to sources both the leaders agreed that the selection of the Nazims would be made after consultation with all party members and PML allies and all parties decisions would be made through consultation.
Ch Shujaat told PM that a session of the Party’s Executive committee has been summoned in which situation arising out of LB polls and allegations of rigging would be reviewed.
With regard to quorum issue Ch Shujaat said that all members have been directed to ensure their presence and stressed on the PM that he should ensure presence of federal ministers and state ministers. PM said that he has already issued instructions in this regard and stressed on maintaining party discipline.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz met with MMA leaders Hafiz Hussain Ahmed and Liaqat Baloch and exchanged views on current political situation in the country.
PM in response to opposition’s reservation on Pak-Israeli FM meetings said that the meeting should not be viewed in a different scenario as Pakistan is still with the people Palestine. He said the opposition and all political parties would be taken into confidence on any decision with respect to Israel.
Earlier, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain commenting on the meeting between Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and Israel said Pakistan is trying to help the Palestinians for restoration of their rights.
Talking to newsmen at the parliament house, the PML President said negotiations are part of diplomacy. He said the government would take the parliament into confidence before taking any vital decision on the issue of Israel and added the meeting between the two foreign ministers is not meant to recognise Israel.
