Qazi laments Pak, Israel contact

ISLAMABAD—President Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) Qazi Hussain Ahmed has said that entire nation condemns foreign minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri’s meeting with his Israeli counterpart Silvan Shalom in Istanbul on Thursday.
“Government’s forward movement for friendship with Israel is against the ideology of Pakistan”, MMA president observed while reacting to Foreign Minister’s Khurshid Kasuri’s meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister.
He noted that Parliament was not consulted about Mr Kasuri’s meeting with his Israeli counterpart and no prior announcement was made on any forum regarding their meeting. Mr Kasuri’s meeting with Israeli foreign minister was against masses aspirations, he said. “We have clashes with Israel because it has occupied our sacred sites and those who talk about its (Israel) recognition are unaware of the essence of Islam”, Qazi added.
He said that Pakistan should not withdraw from its principle stance regarding Israel. Our foreign policies should be clear regarding Israel’s forceful occupation of Muslims holy places in Palestine. He observed that those Muslims countries who recognized Israel have violated Islamic principles.—Online
