ADB President due in Capital on 5th

ISLAMABAD—Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Haruhiko Kuroda will visit Pakistan on 5-6 September.
ADB president will participate in a briefing session that would highlight the Government’s economic development priorities. President Kuroda will also visit Khushali Bank, a micro finance bank established under ADB’s pioneering assistance for the sector in Pakistan.
ADB and Pakistan have been development partners for over three decades. As of 31 December 2004, ADB had provided cumulative assistance of $14.3 billion plus a total of $138 million in technical assistance grants.
In the past three years, ADB has lent an average of $907 million per annum to Pakistan, focusing on supporting governance and economic reforms, financial sector development, the transport and communications sector, the social sectors, and small and medium enterprise development.
Asian Development Bank has expressed grave concern over the Programme ‘Access to justice’ and will also hold talks with Pakistani authority on this project.
ADB has cancelled many development projects in the Pakistan for delaying in the completion and mismanagement in the completion process.
