In an all out of the blue Fatwa (Edict) Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, a representative body of Indian Muslims has declared the national song and more or less the national anthem of India, 'Vande Mataram', as un-Islamic and the Jamiat has urged all the India Muslims, not to recite the song or the anthem.
'Vande Mataram' is not something that has emerged in India in a year or so. In fact it is an anthem of honouring the motherland and is being sung by every native of India for decades, even before India got freedom from British rule. Since 1947, 'Vande Mataram' is part of the life of every Indian, irrespective of any cultural, social or religious differences. However, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has suddenly woken up to the fact that what all their fellow Muslims of India have been reciting for at least last 62 years was not in accordance with the teachings of Islam. Owing to traditional apathy of Mullahs of Pak-India sub-continent to deliver in the direction of religion and to preach peace and harmony amongst the people of their country and even amongst the people across the globe, the top clerics of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind have come up with a novel issue to raise when they had no other issue left to show their dominance to the government. After 62 years, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has been able to notice the actual meanings of the song that they had been singing through out. Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind Mullahs have suddenly decided to lead their fellow Muslims of India to a brand new front with a brand new mission. They have once again come up with the idea to utilize Islam as a tool to show their muscles and to mislead the innocent Muslims of India, who otherwise are as patriotic citizens of India as a Hindu, Christian or a Sikh must be.
The Daily Mail believes that the Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind leadership has simply tried to create a mutinous stage and have bided to push the innocent and patriotic Indian Muslims into a fire of useless anarchy and have pushed them to become rebellions in their own motherland.
The Daily Mail asks the Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind as to where were they sleeping for the last 'Vande Mataram'62 years if 'Vande Mataram' was such a big issue? The Daily Mail questions that if 'Vande Mataram' was such a big matter, why they did not try to solve it right in the beginning, why in 2009 why not in 1947, 1948 or 1949? Why it became an issue for them when the whole Muslim Umma is trying to convince the global community about being Islam as a religion of peace and not violence. Why at such a stage Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has opted to turn Indian Muslims violent?
The Daily Mail would like to request the leaders of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind to show sense and to keep in mind that they are first Indians then Muslims. They should instead preach their fellow Muslims to behave as completely patriotic and law abiding citizens of their country and keep the religious matters away from the politics of mullahs. And as far as Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind is concerned, they are advised that they better keep sleeping over the issue now if they did it for the last 62 years. Please do not create added and uncalled-for troubles for your fellow Indian Muslims. Remember, Islam is religion of peace and harmony and not a religion of violence and turbulence.
