Swat Taliban spokesman calls Commissioner
MINGORA—The Spokesman of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Swat chapter, Haji Muslim Khan has held first ever contact with the NWFP Government by telephone after initiation of military operation in Swat.
Muslim Khan called Commissioner Malakand Fazal Karim Khattak on telephone few days ago and discussed with him various issues, the Chairman Special Support Group (SSG) Lt Gen. Nadeem Ahmed said. It was the first direct contact of the TTP with government administration during five months and both sides discussed various issued during their 20 minutes chat.
During the telephonic conversation, the Commissioner Malakand told Muslim Khan that Taliban defied and violated peace agreement and indulged in terrorist activities even after implementation of Nizam-e-Adl Regulation in Malakand and challenged the government’s writ which made it to launch military operation. He said that despite provincial government full cooperation with Taliban leadership and accepting various suggestions, Taliban opted path of terrorism and followed foreign agenda which was condemnable.
