Rulers have become a threat to country: Nawaz

HAFIZABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif on Saturday said the rulers were looting the national wealth with both hands and they had become a threat to the country.

Addressing a public rally at the Cricket Stadium Hafizabad, he urged the nation to wage a struggle to get rid of the corrupt rulers.

Nawaz said when the PML-N was ruling the country, all daily-use items were available on cheaper rates, but now the price-hike has reached its peak and the people are facing hardships to make ends meet.

The PML-N president said during his government, unemployment was at the lowest ebb and even a poor man was leading an honourable life. Then the government was planning to export electricity to India, but now shortage of electricity and loadshedding had ruined the economy and made people's lives miserable.

Nawaz said during his government, the Indian prime minister came to Pakistan for a patch-up, the country was made an atomic power and national interests were held supreme despite the US opposition to atomic explosions.

The PML-N chief claimed his party would win the upcoming elections and the corrupt rulers would be defeated. He said he would make a new Pakistan with the cooperation of the youth. He urged the new generation to bring about a revolution in the country. He said the PPP leaders were spending huge amounts on foreign visits and the national exchequer was being wasted.

He said after coming into power, the PML-N would eliminate corruption, unemployment, loadshedding and lawlessness from the country.

A large number of PML-N leaders, parliamentarians and party office-bearers attended the public meeting.
