Govt urged to expedite work on gas pipeline

LAHORE – Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) has stressed the government to expedite work on Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline and complete the project without any further delay to overcome the acute gas shortage being faced by the industry.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, the PIAF Chairman, Engineer Sohail Lashari said that the government should not give any wait the suggestions of the US authorities on Pak-Iran gas pipeline as taking care of national interests is the duty of the government.

He said that due to gas shortage, the industrial process has come to a grinding halt while because of low productions the industrial growth is also fast shrinking.

He said that low job creating phenomenon has taken hostage the entire society which resultantly is giving birth to a number of social issues therefore early completion of this project of national importance.

The PIAF Chairman said that despite being a frontline ally of the United States in its war against terrorism and suffering a huge monetary and colossal loss, drone attacks have become order of the day.
