ISLAMABAD - The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Syed Munawar Hassan said on Sunday that the Punjab government was the main culprit behind the release of Raymond Davis, who killed two Pakistanis in Lahore.
Addressing a massive rally to condemn the desecration of the Holy Quran by a fanatic US pastor Terry Johns here at D-Chowk in front of the Parliament House, the JI chief said the Pakistan government should call an emergency meeting of the OIC over the issue and also call the US diplomat to the Foreign Office for explanation.
Munawar Hassan said the Western forces are afraid of the Islamic revolution, which is knocking at their doors, and creating issues like blasphemy and desecration to stop this revolution. He said despite the negative propaganda of the West, Islam was quickly spreading and majority of those who embrace Islam are woman.
Munawar said the shameful acts like desecration of the Holy Quran can not stop the way of Islamic revolution. “The 60 percent military of the world has been defeated at the hand of Afghan people and Taliban,” he said.
On the issue of Raymond Davis, he said the judiciary, army and ISI are equally responsible for the release of the US killer but the Punjab government is the main culprit.
