Tahir's surgery can be delayed, says surgeon

From Bipin Dani

Mumbai - Dr. Mike Solomons, whose opinion was sought for Imran Tahir's recent injury, has put the ball in South African team management. The hand-specialist was consulted by the team management after Pakistani-born, Tahir sustained a fracture to his left thumb.

"I have examined the reports sent by them. The surgery on Tahir can be delayed for 3-4 weeks. It will be up to the management (and Tahir himself) to decide whether he should go for it now or after the World Cup", Dr. Solomon disclosed exclusively.

It may be recalled here that Dr. Solomons has recently treated captain Graeme Smith, who had been plagued by hand and finger injuries. He also has his credit of treating several other international sports-persons.

While attempting the caught and bowled, which dismissed Jonathan Trott, Imran Tahir injured himself during the game against England (Chennai) on Sunday.
