Lies, lies and more lies to cover up the truth and deceive the nation! Isn’t it how our country is being governed today? Isn’t it a misnomer to call ourselves an Islamic nation when almost everybody – the rulers and those they rule – defy the very definition of a true and honest Muslim and disregard even the fundamental teachings of The Glorious Holy Quran and the role model example of God’s last messenger, Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)? Can we call ourselves the faithful followers of the great man who was regarded and held in high esteem for his truthfulness, honesty, good conduct and trustworthy and upright character? Shouldn’t we feel ashamed on describing ourselves as the Ummah of the “As-Sadiq” and the “Al-Ameen”? Doesn’t the hated mirror (I am describing it as “hated” because it shows us as we are) mock us and make us hide ourselves from all that it so glaringly reveals? No. At least that is how the facts as divulged in the print and electronic media prove. The rulers and the masses have lost their conscience and care a hoot about being accountable for the falsehood and propaganda topped up with layers of artful deception they practice without even pausing to give a moment’s worth of thought to the truth that they are destroying the Land of the Pure!
We have the Memogate scandal. We have the mystery of who planned and assassinated Benazir Bhutto. We have the unprovoked massacre and bloodshed of 24 army men guarding the Salala check post on the wee hours of Nov. 26-27 last year. We have an unashamed America still attacking our people on our own soil via drones, once again, after a brief gap of two months. We have the poor and the have-nots, the white-collared men and women and the honest and God-fearing investors and businessmen and businesswomen, toiling under the burdens of power and gas load shedding, imposed upon us by the gendarmes of the “Awami Hukumat” (Government of the people)! We have people being abducted and made to disappear from their kith and kin, friends and companions, by the very forces that were created to ensure their safety and protect their lives and honour. We have the feudal set-up, both in the rural and urban regions of our homeland, which is enjoying life and ill-gotten comforts and luxuries, at the cost of the deprived and the downtrodden…in fact there is so much evil and obnoxious foul matter on the platter of those who came to nurture and nourish democracy in the country and deliver all that was promised during the 2008 election campaign…that it will take a book to list and sum up the misdeeds of the political masters and their cohorts sitting at the helm of affairs in the parliament and the senate, the secretariats and the government offices all over the length and breadth of the country! Fie on it! Pardon me for using a quotation by Shakespeare here but then there is no other decent verbal way of defining and analyzing the grim state of sad affairs clawing and surrounding our homeland like a giant octopus that refuses to let go or die! Yes, fie on it, fie on it!
At the time that this is being written I hear the chants of “Allahu-Akbar” blaring from the loudspeakers of mosques in the Federal Capital city called Islamabad. But do the shameless power mongers and their bunch of paid hoodlums and flattering cronies care? Do they ever pay attention to the calls from the mosques declaring that Allah is the Greatest? Or have they become inert and worse than the deaf, the dumb and the blind cattle? Or have their hearts become more hardened than rocks? The truth is undeniably crystal clear for all of us to see and pray to the One God Who cannot be cheated or dodged. That is all that is left for us to do day in and day out. Now, only the Almighty can free and save us – the loyal and suffering Pakistanis, groaning and moaning for divine intervention from Above for heavenly help and rescue from the present coterie of robbers and liars, cheaters and murderers, kidnappers and killers, rapists and rowdies, bandits and cut-throat braggarts, who have nothing but their selfish desires in aim. Men and women who have forgotten their Creator Lord God Almighty and even the Last Day of Accountability and reward and punishment; more commonly defined as Doomsday…the Judgement Day.
The entire globe fears an apocalypse this year. The prophecies of Nostradamus, Merlin the wizard , the Oracle of Delphi and the wise ones of the Mayan civilization – all feared that this planet of ours will be hit by the worst catastrophe in centuries and that everything on the earth will become extinct. No one knows the exact date except God Almighty alone. But do our powerful “saviours of democracy”, sitting under borrowed plumes and cheating you and me care? Will those who condemn and criticize them in the open while hugging each other when the fooling art of lying to the people using mob psychology stop their foul and evil thoughts and deeds and repent? After all, dear readers, we are already there -- two months into 2012 and only a little more than 10 are left. Yet the deceivers bent upon dodging and lying to you and me and leaving no stone unturned to ruin the “Bastion of Islam” – as Pakistan has been defined by the Muslims of the world, will not give up their nefarious way of life…yet they will soon know that God is the “Khairul Maakireen” meaning the “Best of those who plot”…the day is bound to come and let us wish and pray that it happens when these cheating politicians and their dishonest bunch of administrators are caught unaware in the middle of the night -- when they are lost to indolent luxury and indecent activities – and blotted out forever! History proves that the end of evil rulers and their flattering buddies is very horrific and horrible…so be it as soon as it possibly can…Aameen!
