ISLAMABAD–Islamabad Development Working Party (IDWP) approved 28 development projects to be launched in ICT shortly under the Islamabad Development Package for the uplift of rural areas of Islamabad.
The formal approval of these projects was made in a meeting chaired by the Chief Commissioner, Islamabad, Tariq Mahmood Pirzada. While addressing the participants, he said that Islamabad Capital Territory has been divided into two Civil Districts and Sessions Divisions i.e Islamabad East and Islamabad West.
In this regard, the meeting of IDWP held on Thursday approved an important project costing Rs. 8.784 million relating to the establishment of court rooms , provision of furniture and other allied facilities in F-8 Markaz Islamabad for the newly established Sessions Division and Civil District, Islamabad East.
Chief Commissioner said that he has ordered the Local Government and Rural Development Department, Islamabad to complete this project on urgent basis so that the judicial officers of Sessions Division and Civil District, Islamabad East could be facilitated in all respect and for quick disposal of the cases.
The main objective of the project is to increase the number of court rooms in F-8 Markaz Islamabad to facilitate the additional judges for hearing of the cases and provision of quick justice and safety and security of the premises.
The premises vacated by the ICT Administration in F-8 Markaz Islamabad has been taken over by the Sessions Division and Civil District Islamabad East. The civil works, renovation, furnishing and provision of furniture and other allied facilities have been ordered to be done on urgent basis.
The meeting was attended by the judicial officers Syed Muzaffar Ali Shah, MIT, Islamabad High Court, District and Sessions Judge, Islamabad East, Syed Kausar Abbas Zaidi, Obaidur Rahman, Deputy Financial Advisor, Finance Division, Ashfaq Ahmed, Planning Commission, Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad Amer Ali Ahmed, Director, Finance/Development Rana Akbar Hayat and other officials of ICT Administration.
The development projects which were approved in the meeting of IDWP include establishment of the courtroom and provision of furniture and other allied facilities for the Session Division and Civil District East costing Rs 8.784 million, Development of roads and streets at Kirpa and adjoining Dhokes at the estimated cost of Rs 52.168 million, construction of 6 kilo meter roads union council Sohan(revised) at estimated cost of Rs. 40.942 million, construction of 7 kilo meter roads union council Tarlai(revised) costing Rs 47.766 million, widening and rehabilitation of Bhadan road at estimated cost of Rs 51.742 million, rehabilitation and construction of 6 kilo meter roads in the rural area of NA-48, Islamabad at estimated cost of Rs 52.444 million, widening and improvement of main Chirah and Patlari Moawa road ICT Islamabad costing Rs 51.587 million, widening and improvement of 5.50 kilo meter roads in union council Tumair and Kirpa costing Rs 50.474 million were approved.
Likewise, the meeting also approved development projects of street pavements at Bhadana and Tarnol(adjoining abadies) costing Rs 37.842 million, rehabilitation and construction of 4.50 kilo meter roads in rural area of NA-48 Islamabad costing Rs 51.281 million, repair and improvement of 8 kilo meter roads in union council Tarlai and Sohan costing Rs. 48.506 million, street pavements in 5 villages of Tarlai , widening of Mallot road (revised) costing Rs. 58.206 million, construction of 6 KM rural roads in UC Koral (revised) costing Rs. 59.886 million, construction of link roads Kortana in UC Rawat (revised) costing Rs. 23.835 million, street pavement at Jabbi Gakhran ,Chakian, Gagri Bhandar, Dhoke Dandi Mughal , Sihala Mirzian and Herdogher revised costing Rs 58.470 million, up gradation of water supply scheme Tarlai at estimated cost of Rs.26.560 million, up gradation of 5 water supply schemes in rural area of ICT revised costing Rs. 30.947 million.
