MIRANSHAH – At least 18 people were killed in two US drone attacks in North Waziristan on Thursday. According to report, a US predator fired two missiles on a vehicle on Mirl Ali Hai Soro Road in the second attack. Resultantly, three people were killed and other injured.
Prior to this, another a US drone fired two missiles on a compound allegedly used by militants in Spalga town near Miranshah, killing at least six people. The CIA operated drone attacks have been intensified in recent days after months of lull following the NATO attacks on a Pakistani check post late last year. Interestingly, with the signs of improvement in Pak-US relations, the drone campaign has once again got momentum.
Agencies Add: At least 18 people were killed while seven others were injured in missile strike at a remote area of North Waziristan Agency. According to the media reports, a suspected US drone fired two missiles on house in Tehsil Sapalga of the North Waziristan trial belt, bordering Afghanistan. The strike, carried out in wee hours of Thursday, left seven people dead, injuring seven others. They were later taken to nearby hospital, sources said. – Agencies
