LAHORE – Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has blamed federal ministers for the current power and gas crisis in the country.
He was talking to media men outside the Punjab Assembly building he said that gas and power load shedding should be managed at such level that people could tolerate it.
He said that the federal government has not transferred power to provinces under 18th amendment. “Discrimination is being shown to Punjab on this count,” he added.
“This is sheer breach of the constitution and the matter could be taken to the Supreme Court,” he stated.
He said the Punjab government is blamed for not holding the Local Bodies polls but no other province has also not local government elections.
“Holding elections was responsibility of Election Commission and it was not possible to hold polls till new lists were prepared,” he added.
After obtaining Rs 70 million development funds by the PPP members of Punjab Assembly they did not need more funds and so much amount could not be digested by them within this short period, he said. He added that Rs 70 million had been provided to PPP assembly members for making election preparations.
To another question he said the killing of 14 people in Gujranwala incident reflected the feudal mindset and not only government and police but society should also take notice of it. – Agencies
